Hardy perennial climber

Clematis potaninii is a late flowering original species of Clematis from China.  This is a good strong climber, scrambling up trees and other structures to a height of 2-4m.  It has masses of lovely white flowers from June to September. 

This clematis is hardy, prefers sun to part shade and a rich well drained soil.  This is a Group 3 clematis and is generally cut back hard in the winter or early spring, adding a good mulch and some plant food around the roots afterwards. 

Sow in the autumn/winter in a cold frame or against a north facing wall and the seeds will germinate in the spring once dormancy is broken.  Or sow seeds in spring/summer including 6 weeks in a fridge.  Seedlings emerge slowly.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Postage: I send the seeds using Royal Mail the day after payment, and they get to you 2-5 working days later in the UK and 3-7 working days later in the rest of the European Union.   I do not generally send seeds outside the European Union or Western Europe.   I can send first class or by other methods – let me know before you pay and I can send you a quote and a revised invoice.
